This porcelain slab wall mount, saggar fired, carries the marks of fire, minerals, and organic combustibles. Copper wire, fine wire mesh, dried flowers, grasses, pine cones, and hemp wood chips burned against the surface, imprinting veils of smoke and subtle metallic traces. Oxide washes of manganese dioxide, red iron oxide, and cobalt carbonate deepened the palette, producing a layered landscape effect.

Visually, the slab recalls a natural horizon: a band of rich, ember-reds and deep browns cuts across the porcelain surface like a mountain ridge at dusk. Above, faint wisps of smoke diffuse into soft, pale porcelain fields, suggesting fading daylight. Below, a gentle gradient of cobalt blue bleeds upward, evoking water or sky at twilight. The piece reads like a passage of land meeting sea and air — an abstracted landscape captured by fire itself. Warping and surface irregularities add to the impression of movement, echoing erosion, weather, and elemental change.
