Arita Series – Small Bowl with Lid 3

To hold this bowl is to hold something that has survived the impossible — multiple firings, multiple thermal shocks.
Dark purples, warm amber, carbon traces left by materials long burned away.
The lid rests on top like a breath held still.

Reduction firing on Japanese Arita porcelain. Exterior unglazed — shaped entirely by fire residues. Interior with a transparent satin glaze.
