Arita Series – Chawan Mushi Cup with Lid 1

Intimacy lives in small things.
This lidded cup carries a universe of fire on its surface — deep purples and burnt ambers spiralling from the saggar, dark carbon clouds frozen in time. The lid sits like a quiet promise.

Originally used for a Chawan Mushi dish, otherwise you can use it for your tea, for warmth, for the simple joy of holding something irreplaceable.

Reduction firing on Japanese Arita porcelain. Exterior unglazed — shaped entirely by fire residues. Interior with a transparent satin glaze.
