Arita Series – Chawan Mushi Cup with Lid 3

Dark and luminous at once, this lidded cup carries the full weight of reduction firing on its skin. Purples shift into deep charcoal, burnt copper flares at unexpected points.
A small vessel with an enormous presence.

Originally used for a Chawan Mushi dish, otherwise you can use it for your tea or for whatever you choose to keep close.

Reduction firing on Japanese Arita porcelain. Exterior unglazed — shaped entirely by fire residues. Interior with a transparent satin glaze.
