John Mac Signature Saggar Cup – Lime Mist

Not every fire announces itself. Some settle quietly into the room, leaving only the faintest trace of warmth behind.
The surface is almost entirely pale — vast, open, breathing. A single soft band of charcoal and warm brown wraps gently around the upper shoulder, barely raising its voice, and below it, wisps of smoke-like shadow drift downward and dissolve into the cream of the porcelain.
Generous handfuls of lime leaves were the defining ingredient — burning softly, leaving behind the quietest of impressions. Look closely at the base and you will find the maker's mark — a small cobalt blue stamp, the only deliberate colour on the entire piece.

Handmade in Limoges porcelain and fired multiple times. The exterior is completely unglazed. The interior is finished in a transparent satin glaze.
Combustibles: lime leaves (generous), pine cones, wood chips, dried grass, with wire mesh, copper wire and manganese wash.
