The same wide moon-jar silhouette, but darker — the fire here reads as forest after burning, deep charcoal closing in with only the edges of copper still glowing through.
Thrown in Japanese porcelain by Nishihara Akira in Arita, Japan, then saggar-fired by John Mac in France using the same combustibles as the Echoes of Fire series — wood chips, copper wire, dried flowers, pine cones, and metal oxides. The exterior is completely unglazed; all surface decoration comes from the fire itself.
Part of the Shuhari Collection — a collaboration between two makers, two traditions, and one act of surrender to the fire.
