Wani Studio – Diplodocus Soba Cup

The same long-necked Diplodocus, painted here on a smaller, narrower-mouthed soba cup rather than the wide bowl — the plain interior marking the shift in form.

Hand-painted porcelain by studio wani — Kenichiro and Miriam Watajima, a husband-and-wife duo working in Hasami, Nagasaki. The dinosaur series is Miriam's design; sand is mixed into the porcelain clay to give an antique, iron-speckled surface in homage to Ko-Imari ware.
