Wani Studio – Pteranodon Yunomi Cup

A sprawling Pteranodon stretches its wings across a tall yunomi cup, its rim marked with a border of cross-hatch and rust-brown dots — bold and unrepentant.

Hand-painted porcelain by studio wani — Kenichiro and Miriam Watajima, a husband-and-wife duo working in Hasami, Nagasaki. The dinosaur series is Miriam's design; sand is mixed into the porcelain clay to give an antique, iron-speckled surface in homage to Ko-Imari ware.
