Handmade porcelain vase- hand-built using slabs and saggar fired with copper wire, fine wire mesh, cobalt carbonate, and layered combustibles including woodchips, dried flowers, grasses, seaweed, bananas, and mushrooms. As these organic materials burned, they diffused into the porcelain body, leaving textured veils and atmospheric markings unique to each firing.
The saggar process enriched the surface with smoky gradients, ember reds, and dark atmospheric tones, while cobalt carbonate introduced bluish hues shifting across the porcelain. Copper fuming left subtle metallic traces, and fine mesh created delicate linear imprints.
The interior is coated with a transparent satin glaze, making the vase suitable for holding water. The exterior remains unglazed to preserve the fragile saggar-fired surface. Subtle warping from the third firing gives the form an organic quality, enhancing its individuality.
Each vase is a unique collaboration of fire, minerals, and combustibles, its surface resembling an abstract landscape shaped by transformation.
