Handmade Porcelain Saggar-Fired Wall Mount (1)

Handmade A4 porcelain slab wall mount, saggar-fired to capture the alchemy of fire, minerals, and organic matter. Framed in black wood, these works preserve painterly landscapes formed through combustion and fuming—where minerals, metals, and plants imprint their memory into porcelain.

Banana skins lend warm burnt browns, cobalt carbonate creates veils of blue reminiscent of skies and seas, and manganese dioxide contributes smoky blacks and atmospheric shadows. The firing also incorporates copper wire, fine wire mesh, dried flowers and grasses, pine cones, and hemp wood chips, each leaving subtle traces—metallic flashes, linear imprints, botanical silhouettes, and diffused smoky gradients. Together, these reactions evoke horizons, shifting skies, and layered terrains, as though nature itself painted directly on the clay.
