Set of handmade porcelain vases, wheel-thrown and saggar fired with copper wire, fine wire mesh, and layered combustibles including woodchips, dried flowers, grasses. The firing left bold earthy markings diffused into the porcelain body, with deep ember reds, smoky browns, and shadowy blacks blending across the surface. These mineral traces interact with the porcelain in unexpected ways, creating surfaces that resemble natural landscapes: mountain ridges stretching along the horizon, riverbanks cutting through dark valleys, and cloud-like veils rising above.
The large vase emphasizes broad horizontal bands that recall wide open plains, while the small vase reveals denser layers with darker contrasts, evoking forested hillsides against pale skies. Each piece carries the marks of transformation through fire, preserving both the intensity and delicacy of the saggar process.
The interiors are glazed with a transparent satin glaze, allowing them to hold water, while the exteriors remain matte and unglazed to retain the raw, fire-marked surface.
